N's Blog Regarding Prop 8

I'm N, and I am also absolutely against prop 8. It's simply a matter of a bunch of busybodies trying to control the lives of those they don't approve of. "Live & let live."

As for moe, we probably will get out as soon as we get our grade for it. Also, whose rule is that about marriage being only for heterosexuals? If you are quoting someone, you should at least say who.

  1. I voted against Prop. 8 even though I really think it is silly for gays to consider marrying. They should have legal rights just like heterosexual couples (inheritance, health care decisions, etc.). In fact, if you discuss this issue with many gays, they would never consider marriage and are quite happy just being together with their partners. In fact, some of them have been together longer than regular marriages last.

  3. I don't even know what a blog is, so I hope this answer is sufficient. I certainly do know what prejudice is, and I find Proposition 8 ridiculous and disgusting. How does the government get to be busybodies about everyone else's life. If those judges enjoy golf, does that mean we all have to learn to tee off. I'm teed off enough about their proposition.

  4. I do not understand how gays entering a legal and binding contract that states that their love will protect them by giving them the same rights as those hetro couples who take these rights for granted is any kind of a threat to those hetro couples.I urge you to VOTE NO ON 8 for basic civil rights for all. It's the American way!!

  5. People should be allowed to commit their lives in partnership to whomever they fall in love with, not what others expect them to do. So no on Prop 8 for me.

    Live and let live.

  6. There was a time when whites couldn't marry blacks, and Italians couldn't marry Jews and the Irish couldn't marry italians and so forth and so on. First it was religion then it was race now its homophobia. Those of you against prop 8 need to get a life of your own and let the rest of us do the same. I won't deny your rights and you don't deny mine.

  7. i'm ATS against Prop 8 since it's been proven that some people have a different sex drive from heterosexual behavior. Those that are labeled homosexuals should be eligible to marry a same-sex partner rather than be forced by law to cohabitate without the privilege of a legal tie. Many gay & lesbian couples live together & don't wish marriage just as many heterosexual couples choose to live without a legal tie.
However i believe their legal choices should have the same entitlements. 23 Oct 2008

  8. As a legally and spiritually married gay man, my opinion regarding this issue is obvious. Republicans are a reprehensible group of bullies and busybodies. Our nation consists of Whites, Blacks, Latinos, Asians, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Gay and Straight people and so on. And guess what? We're all supposed to have the same rights and entitlements - not just those who share a narrow minded and highly judgemental view of our fellow men. To promote such ghastly agendas in the name of Christianity is especially repugnant to me; I am a strong Christian and their hateful and dishonest ravings are about as far from Christian teachings as one could possibly get. I'm a hard working, spiritual and caring person - who is Sarah Palin to judge me or decide how I must conduct myself? My own family doesn't do this...my Creator doesn't do this. What gives this woman of dubious qualifications the right to do so? Vote Obama - he just may be our last hope.

  9. I hope everyone is AWARE that a YES ON 8 means you are AGAINST the right for gays to marry. NO ON 8 means you don't want to change the law and have NO PROBLEM WITH GAYS BEING ABLE TO MARRY. Please be careful so as to get you vote in the way you really want it. I believe it was set up this way specifically to screw people up who think Yes is actually for the ability to marry your same-sex partner. That is incorrect. So just know which way you want to vote. My opinion... NO ON 8!!!!! I believe we should all have the same rights and how it affects someone else is beyond my comprehension. LIVE AND LET LIVE!!!

  10. We should all have the same rights as others. I also believe that government should keep out of our private lives. Gays should have the right to get married.

Government shouldn't have the right to decide who is right for marriage and who isn't.

Let the rights for one be the rights for all.

  11. It is embarrassing to say that I have never blogged before and was at a loss as to how to add a comment. Part of the reason is that even though I am computer literate, I am 55 years old, still working and have a lot going on. Accordingly, I just don't have the time or inclination.
Deena, I may have something for you regarding blogging that could help both of us. Please give me a call.
Now, for the topic at hand. My vote is a resounding NO! to prop 8. First of all, marriage was “invented” due to inheritance issues so from the very beginning it has been manmade, according to manmade views at the time. The major problems we face in this country lately has to do with all the “Political Correct” bullshit; this is no exception. The fact of the matter is that if two people want to memorialize their commitment to each other realizing the effects on personal assets then they should be allowed to. Period, the end.
